In November, Bill recorded his Symphony #1 for Wind Ensemble with the Cal State Fullerton Wind Symphony, conducted by Mitch Fennell. It's dedicated to the memory of trumpeter and teach Mark Garrabrant and featured Kye Palmer in the second movement.
In January, Bill went into Capitol Studios and recorded an album with the pop icon Freda Payne, who happens to be a jazz singer of the first order. He produced the session, wrote the charts, and conducted. It will be released sometime in 2014.

In June, Bill brought the Resonance Big Band to the Hollywood Bowl for the Playboy Jazz Festival. Here he is, conducting his Grammy-winning arrangement of "West Side Story" with virtuoso pianist Marian Petrescu.
In July, Bill went into Talley Sherwood's studio, and recorded His latest solo-piano release, “That Time of Year” (Metre Records, 2011), his take on traditional Christmas tunes, with guest vocalist Denise Donatelli.

The LA Times published a 6 part video interview series where Bill was asked among a panel of the makers of the documentary, "On the Shoulders of Giants" about the process of creating a film that celebrates the Harlem Renaissance. Bill wrote the score for the film.
The Temple University Jazz Ensemble has recorded a project called "To Thad, With Love", celebrating the work of one of my favorite composer/arranger/trumpeters, Thad Jones. I've contributed three arrangements to the project. Other arrangers are Dennis Mackrel, Yoichi Uzeki, and John Clayton. It sounds great!!
Bill was nominated for the FOURTH time for a Grammy for his trumpet concerto, "Fourth stream... La Banda," written for virtuoso trumpeter Terell Stafford and the Temple University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Luis Biava.
